Donald Trump has emerged only stronger in his battles with everyone from Megyn Kelly to George W. Bush. His Thursday clash with Pope Francis, at least in South Carolina, looks to be no different.
Christian leaders say voters in heavily evangelical South Carolina are at a minimum, unlikely to be swayed by the leader of the Roman Catholic Church, who on Thursday questioned whether Trump is a Christian.
In fact, they say, the pontiff's comments may spur voters to rally around Trump.
